DATA GOVERNANCE

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026. A code-verified explanation of how media, cookies, and technical data are handled across Watermark Eraser.

1. Technical Architecture & Media Handling

Watermark Eraser provides two distinct processing pathways. We believe in complete transparency regarding where your data resides:

A. In-Browser Client Processing (Local Execution)

When using client-side image inpainting or WebCodecs GPU video processing, media files are loaded directly into your browser's HTML5 Canvas and Web Workers. No image pixels or video frames are transmitted over the internet or uploaded to any external server. All computations occur locally on your machine's CPU/GPU and are discarded when you close or reload the tab.

B. Python Backend Server Processing

If you select the Python OpenCV server engine for image or video rendering, your media is transmitted via encrypted HTTPS directly to our execution server. The technical handling is as follows:

  • Temporary Storage: Files are stored temporarily in a secured local directory (temp_uploads/) strictly for the duration required to execute OpenCV and FFmpeg operations.
  • Immediate Purge: When you download the cleaned file, an immediate cleanup request (/api/video/cleanup/<job_id>) removes the input source file.
  • Automated Expiration: Any remaining temporary files are automatically pruned by routine background maintenance scripts within 2โ€“3 hours.
  • No Machine Learning Training: We never use user-submitted media to train, fine-tune, or calibrate public machine learning models.

2. Analytics & Performance Monitoring

We may collect aggregated, non-identifying telemetry (such as page load times, browser type, and algorithm success rates) to improve application performance. If configured, Google Analytics (GA4) or Firebase Analytics collects anonymized visitor metrics without linking them to media contents.

3. Advertising & Cookies

Watermark Eraser serves advertisements through Google AdSense to support the free availability of our processing tools. Google AdSense may use cookies or web beacons to serve ads based on prior visits to this or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

4. Third-Party Services

Our website utilizes trusted CDN services for standard web fonts (Google Fonts) and core JavaScript modules. These providers receive standard HTTP request headers necessary to transmit assets.

5. Contact for Privacy Requests

If you have questions regarding this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise data privacy rights, please contact our team at enquiries@watermarkeraser.in.
